What We Do

We find and write grant applications for Canadian companies, organizations, and communities. We specialize in federal programs outside of IRAP and SRED, and grant programs in British Columbia.

Export Development Grants

The Trade Commissioner Service of the Government of Canada offers financial support to exporters and innovators to connect with potential foreign partners, pursue new business opportunities abroad or attract foreign investment into Canadian communities.

The CanExport SME program is for small businesses seeking to develop international markets for their goods and services, through non-repayable grants of up to $50,000.

The CanExport Innovation program offers up to $75,000 in non-repayable grants to help Canadian SMEs, academic institutions and non-government research centres develop R&D collaborations through partnerships in foreign markets.

The CanExport Associations program provides annual funding of up to $250,000 for Canadian national industry associations and trade organizations to pursue international business development activities.

The CanExport Community Investments program is designed to help Canadian communities and non-profit, locally based organizations attract, retain and expand foreign direct investment. It offers annual funding of up to $500,000.

If you’re in the arts, the federal government has the Creative Export Strategy program to help you heighten exposure of Canadian creative works in international markets and to increase export profitability for Canada’s creative industries.

Hiring & Training Grants

If you’re looking to hire new and/or under-represented employees for your business - for full-time or temporary work - there is a range of federal and provincial programs that can help ease the financial cost. Some of these programs are seasonal, like the federal Canada Summer Jobs wage subsidy.

The Canada Jobs and Growth Fund supports regional job creation and positions local economies for long-term growth. The fund helps job creators and the organizations that support them future-proof their businesses, build resiliency and prepare for growth.

Others are designed for students enrolled in accredited post-secondary educational institutions, commonly known as Work-Integrated Learning (WIL). And yet others are geared to helping women in Canada pursue careers in skilled trades.

There are also grants available to up-skill existing employees via the BC Employer Training Grant program. This grant can also be used to hire new employees meeting certain qualification criteria.

Business Development Grants

Canadian and BC businesses looking for assistance to strengthen their businesses processes and equip themselves for expansion and growth can access a range of federal and provincial funding programs, like Futurpreneur Canada for 18-39 year olds, Black entrepreneurs, and Indigenous entrepreneurs.

The federal Business Scale-up and Productivity program makes strategic investments in growing companies in both established sectors creating value now and emerging sectors growing quickly. This program prioritizes the advanced manufacturing, cleantech, digital, health & bio-sciences, and ocean technology sectors, as well as value-added processing in agriculture and natural resources.

There is also a range of sector-specific programs offering financial assistance for companies in agriculture, cleantech, digital arts, ocean tech and others.
